How do I find out more about outsourcing to HBCS?

Our web site provides a lot of information about HBCS and the services we provide to our clients. Read About HBCS or view our Solutions for broad descriptions of the firm and what we do. Our services are designed to respond to your problem. We first want very much to understand the problem you are dealing with so that we can custom-design a service package to meet your needs.

Contact your Sales Representative at HBCS with specific questions or to arrange to visit with us. There is no better way to really understand the quality and patient-driven focus of our service menu than to come and visit us.

How are goals monitored?

All of our customer service team members are assigned monthly quality, collection, and productivity goals that correspond to the monthly performance goals of our client hospitals. Progress towards these goals is monitored on a daily basis so that we can evaluate and, if necessary, adjust resource allocations and business campaigns to meet the monthly client objectives. In addition, our customer service team members have the opportunity to earn financial incentives for meeting or exceeding these monthly goals. And we provide regular monthly reports to clients detailing goal attainment.

Are calls recorded? If so, how can I retrieve a call?

HBCS utilizes a state-of-the-art recording system that records each inbound and outbound phone call including a screen capture. HBCS uses a sophisticated call recording system to record all calls. This system has a seven-year retention and retrieval capability. Every account representative is monitored monthly for both quality and productivity. We use this system for training, coaching, and to resolve compliance issues. If needed, a call can be played back for a client or recorded on a CD and sent to a client for review.

How is cash handled?

With the exception of bad-debt collections, which are worked in our name as an independent collection agency, all collection services provided by HBCS are done as an extension of the healthcare organization's business office. As a result, cash flows into your healthcare business, not HBCS. As a client you then reports all transactions to HBCS daily and we provide documentation of all paid accounts. Regular audits reconcile differences.

Bad Debt Collections flow into HBCS, are accounted for on our books and yours, and remitted to you on a monthly basis.

Can I get a report of my denials? Skip accounts? New Insurance information?

HBCS provides a very comprehensive reporting package designed specifically for the services which you utilize. Skip accounts, insurance denials, found insurance, demographic updates and corrections, etc., are all provided to our clients in addition to the normal placements, collections, returns, etc. Examples of these reports are available by contacting your HBCS representative. Click on Contact above if you do not have a representative at HBCS.

Is HBCS limited geographically to where it does business?

We service all areas of the country. HBCS has approximately 450 employees and provides billing follow-up and collection of accounts receivable from day one on out to second placements of bad debt. We provide a complete line of services. All of our clients are hospitals and all of our business is health care-related. We have approximately 25 years experience providing our service menu. We maintain four locations, all of which provide services -- New Castle, Delaware; Salisbury, Maryland; and, Wakefield, Massachusetts. We do not maintain off-shore locations or use non-USA subcontractors.

Will you provide references?

Yes, and we encourage you to contact them. A list of contact references is available from your HBCS Business Development executive. Like you, executives at our client hospitals are very busy, and we try not to interrupt them with other than the most important matters. Your interest in HBCS is very important to us.
